RED (Or
Blue Lining for some people) ------
the BLUE ^^^^’s
START TIME AND
MEETING PLACES: This week, April 24, 2008, we will be hiking up and
around the Hancock Hill area. I still
haven’t worked out the exact trails yet, but I think we will be gaining a
little more elevation. This is where we
begin to expand our hikes from flat to flat out tiring. Start time is 5:32 P.M. I am giving everyone an extra 2 minutes to
get ready since I have a few new people to meet.
We will begin, again, from the parking area at Houghton’s Pond. To get there, take Route 128 to exit 3 and
travel North to the end. Take a right
and drive about ½ mile to the large Houghton’s Pond Parking Lot. Fred Wason and I will be leading and Holly
Makowsky, Cheryl Lathrop (if she graces us with her presence), and Walt Granda
will be our co-leaders. I hope we get
as good of weather as it has been since Friday.
Oh, one more thing. I’m not
extremely picky about having every type of hiking clothing and equipment in the
world on our RLBH hikes, however, I am strict about headlamps (you regulars
know why), water and rain coats. Please
make sure you have these items and please pay attention to the *1 Quart
Minimum* of water. I know some of you
don’t drink that much (someone I know in particular!) but I would rather you
carry more and not drink it than not having enough and needing it.
Any questions, call or email me.
