Southeastern Massachusetts
Chapter of the AMC
The Southeastern Massachusetts (SEM) Chapter of the AMC, founded in 1976, draws its members from the geographical area southeast of Boston, including Cape Cod and the islands.
The chapter publishes a monthly e-newsletter, The Southeast Breeze, which lists many activities such as hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, trail work, and other special programs. Also, AMC SEM chapter members may freely participate in activities associated with other AMC Chapters.
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD: The DSA is given to someone who has distinguished service—above and beyond the usual SEM high level of volunteer service.

Activity Participation Policy
"AMC encourages involvement in its mission and activities, through its membership, programs, policies and procedures. Our goal is to be a community that is comfortable, inviting and accessible for people of any age, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. Some AMC programs are designed for a certain age range of members or for a special activity or topic. However, any person who meets the minimum qualifications (skills, experience, fitness) established by the trip leader(s) for an activity is eligible to attend, if space is available."
